Beauty from within

UNDERSTANDING YOUR SKIN AND HAIR STRUCTURE

A skin that is beautiful on the outside needs a healthy support on the inside. Your skin and hair say a lot about you: who you are, what kind of lifestyle you lead, the environment you live in, your eating habits, the kind of skincare you apply.

Our skin performs many important functions. Its outer layer protects against ultraviolet (UV) radiation, harmful chemicals, pollution and microorganisms. The dermis is the second, much thicker layer and it is in this layer that collagen is found. Its fibres provide the infrastructure for elastin, which is responsible for maintaining the skin's elasticity, and for hyaluronic acid, which retains moisture. Ageing takes place first in the dermis, before it becomes visible on the outside.

Hair is composed of between 65 and 95% protein. As hair ages, its protein fibres can be weakened, making it more brittle and dull.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

Discover the scientific evidence demonstrating the effectiveness of Peptan in supporting beauty from within.
  • Wrinkle reduction - A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial [1] using daily supplementation with Peptan (5 g dose) or placebo for 90 days showed a 13% reduction in wrinkles around the eyes and 10% around the mouth in the Peptan treatment group.
  • Improved hair condition - In the same study [1], it was shown that Peptan strengthened hair (13% increase in hair strength), making it healthier and more resilient.
  • Reduction of collagen breakdown - In a randomised, placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical trial [2], supplementation with 10 g of Peptan for 3 months was shown to reduce collagen breakdown by 31% (compared to the placebo group).
  • Improved skin hydration - In the same study [2], Peptan was shown to increase skin hydration by 28% after 8 weeks of use, while at the same time 91% of those receiving Peptan noticed higher levels of hydration.
